Alla Lejos Chardonnay
2024, Chile Chico, Aysen, Chile
Profile & Story
Featured among the Best Chardonnays and Best of Southern Chile in the Descorchados Guide 2026 scoring 95 points. Grown on our estate vineyard in Chile Chico, Aysén, planted in 2019 — one of the most remote wine-growing locations in South America. 100% malolactic fermentation to balance the region's intense natural acidity, aged 12 months in barrel. Cool climate, volcanic soils, and the extreme climate of Chilean Patagonia shape a wine unlike anything else on the continent. Small production, estate bottled.
Tasting Notes
Citrus and spice on the nose with distinctive saline notes — a fingerprint of this extreme southern climate. The palate is deep and expansive, with flavours that hit with freshness and intensity. Acidity is sharp and precise, the finish long and mineral. 100% malolactic fermentation gives roundness without losing the wine's wild edge. There is no Chardonnay quite like this in South America.
Pairing Recommendation
Perfect with grilled white fish, ceviche, oysters, or seafood pasta. Works beautifully with fresh goat cheese, roasted chicken with herbs, or asparagus. A natural match for long lunches, seaside dining, or any occasion that calls for something crisp, deep, and a little unexpected.
