About the Wine
Our first vintage at the estate gave us the opportunity to start exploring the characteristics of each of the blocks. We selectively hand picked, sorted and fermented in small, open top tanks each sub-block of the vineyard. This gave us insight into the characteristics of the soils and clone selections on the property. It was also a year to start planning the renaissance of the vineyard with a no compromise approach to growing the most expressive, authentic wines from the estate. Thoughtful use of stem inclusion (whole cluster) was done on certain fermentations to add complexity and texture. After a short cold soak period, the fermenters were allowed to warm to allow for spontaneous (natural yeast) fermentations. Tanks were punched-down during fermentation. The wines were pressed, keeping press wine separate and completed Malo-lactic fermentation and aging in French Oak, with a small percentage being new.
Tasting Notes
Radiating clarity and a spirited lift on the palate, the Sequence blend shines with a brilliance found in wines cultivated on sandy terroir. This wine embodies an airy levity and dynamic energy, making each sip a delight. With very fine and delicate tannins that gracefully recede, allowing the lush aromatics of crushed strawberries, cherries, and wild bramble to take center stage. A crisp, refreshing finish confirms its status as an exceptionally food-friendly wine. Currently expressing some of its finest characteristics, this blend is ideally savored at cellar temperature to fully appreciate its exquisite composition.
