Profile & Story
Nicolas Idiart, a Bordeaux-trained winemaker with roots in Loire winemaking (Chinon, Touraine, Muscadet), founded Maison Idiart in 2013 after several years in wine sales, returning to an artisan, small-batch approach. This Pinot Noir comes from vines 21 to 40 years old on limestone soils in Marigny-Brizay, south of Chinon, given a five-day cold maceration before a twelve-day fermentation.
Tasting Notes
A beautiful ruby color with cherry and raspberry fruit mixed with spice; plump and silky in texture, offset by round, gentle tannins in a medium-bodied, elegantly structured wine.
