Tasting Notes
The Rosso di Montalcino DOC was created to allow producers to offer a fresher, more approachable wine than Brunello while still expressing the unique terroir of the region. Compared to Brunello, it requires less aging, making it ready to enjoy sooner after the harvest, yet it retains good structure and vibrant fruit. In the glass it typically shows bright ruby color with lively aromas of red cherries, red berries, and hints of spice. On the palate the wine is fresh, balanced, and medium-bodied, with smooth tannins and a pleasant finish
Pairing Recommendation
This Rosso di Montalcino pairs wonderfully with a wide range of traditional Italian dishes. It is perfect with pasta featuring tomato-based sauces, ragù, or grilled vegetables. The wine also complements roasted chicken, pork, and lightly grilled red meats. It works well with Tuscan cold cuts and semi-aged cheeses. Thanks to its freshness and balance, it is an excellent everyday wine for casual yet flavorful meals
