Absolution Cellars Rosé of Sangiovese
2023, Chalone AVA, Monterey County, USA
About the Wine
Farmed with great care and over 40 years of experience by Michael Michaud in the legendary Chalone AVA of Monterey County. There’s only ¾ of an acre planted to Sangiovese at Chalone, and I use all the fruit to make this lovely direct-to-press Rosé.
Tasting Notes
Beautiful clear pale salmon color; apple and peach aromas, with a hint of petrol; flavors of sweet strawberry and rhubarb, with a nice minerality and crisp mouthwatering acidity; plus a crisp tart and spicy finish.
Pairing Notes
Drinks beautifully chilled on a hot summer day as well as with a wide variety of food from Morro Bay’s fresh catches, charcuterie, sushi, duck, and Thanksgiving and Holiday Dinners.
