About the Wine
A field-blend of 7 grapes – Touriga Nacional, Tinta Cão, Souzão, Alvarelhão, Bastardo, Petite Sirah, and Garnacha - hand-picked by yours truly and my merry band of volunteers at the Rainey Ranch Vineyard just around the corner from Saxum in Paso Robles’ esteemed Willow Creek District.
Tasting Notes
This beautiful blend starts with a vampire red hue; featuring warm aromas of blueberries, black cherries, star anise, marshmallow, and pipe tobacco; with blackberries, watermelon Jolly Rancher, cherry menthol, and spices in the mouth; leading to a classy finish with firm tannins.
Pairing Notes
An excellent partner for roast beef, game meats, pizza, and a scary movie marathon.
