Bodegas Frontonio is based in Alpartir, Zaragoza, in Aragon. This 100% Garnacha comes from a certified-organic, vertical-axis-trained vineyard in Valdejalon, on calcareous clay-sandy soils at 500-700m altitude on a 5-10% slope, from vines 35+ years old. Grapes were hand-harvested September 13 in 18kg boxes; vinification used 20% whole-cluster, foot-trodden fruit with indigenous yeasts, fermented 28 days in above-ground concrete tanks, then aged 7 months in underground concrete tanks. Production: 19,000 bottles.
