Chateau Belles-Graves is an independent Lalande de Pomerol estate on a gravelly rise facing Pomerol and Saint-Emilion, run by Xavier Piton and Laurent Paulin. The 17-hectare vineyard is farmed with traditional methods and hand-harvested. The grand vin is a blend of 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc from the estate's oldest vines (average age 40 years), aged 12 months in French oak barriques, of which roughly 1/4 to 1/3 are renewed each year depending on the vintage's power.
