Domaine des Marrans is a family estate in Fleurie run by vigneron Mathieu Melinand. This cuvee comes from the domaine's own lieu-dit, Les Marrans, a 4-hectare plot of pink granite soil on 45-year-old Gamay vines, hand-harvested and vinified with 100% whole clusters and indigenous yeast in a semi-carbonic maceration, then aged 12 months in old oak foudre.
Tasting Notes
Fresh and fruity on the palate with racy, well-bred tannins and good overall balance, built to drink well over its first five to six years.
