Stephane Ogier is one of the leading names in Cote-Rotie. In 1997 he joined his family's domaine, rooted for seven generations on the slopes of Ampuis, taking over from his father Michel. La Rosine is his Collines Rhodaniennes Syrah from a 6-hectare, south-facing granite vineyard on the slopes above the southern Cote-Rotie hamlet of Tupin-et-Semons, just outside the appellation. Its 20-30-year-old vines are planted at 10,000 vines per hectare and hand-harvested, giving an accessible expression of his site-driven, elegant style.
