Agricola Calcarea is winemaker Juan Jurado's project in Sanlucar de Barrameda, Andalusia, farmed on a little over a hectare of vines in Pago de Miraflores since Jurado returned to Spain after more than a decade abroad; the name references the region's calcareous, albariza soils. Porfia Tinto is made from the indigenous Tintilla de Rota grape sourced from Pago Carrascal; both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place in stainless steel, followed by aging in seasoned 500-liter barrels under a touch of flor.
