Anna Martens and Eric Narioo began making wine together on Mount Etna's north face in 2008, founding Vino di Anna in 2010 around old bush-vine Nerello Mascalese in Contrada Crasa. Sfuso di Anna is an estate field blend built primarily on old bush-vine Nerello Mascalese (about 85%), with the balance of Nerello Cappuccio, Grenache and a small proportion of indigenous white varieties; fermented spontaneously, partly in the estate's historic stone palmento and partly in qvevri and open wooden fermenters, then aged in large chestnut and old oak barrels on fine lees.
