Profile & Story
Cultivated at 1,315 meters in the highlands of Proshyan, Alexandrea Chardonnay 2023 reflects the purity and vitality of Armenia’s premium vineyards. Grown in rich clay and sandy loam soils with alluvial traces, the grapes are hand-picked in mid-September and fermented in a selection of American, Armenian, and French oak barrels. Aged for 7 months, this single-vineyard Chardonnay captures both freshness and depth, expressing the harmony between vibrant fruit character and gentle oak influence. Bottled at 13.7% alcohol, the 2023 vintage stands out for its balance, charm, and bright expression of Armenian terroir.
Tasting Notes
The wine opens with a lively aromatic profile featuring tropical fruits, white pear, quince, banana, and pineapple, intertwined with delicate hints of oak and straw. On the palate, it is full-bodied and expressive, offering layered citrus flavors, smooth texture, and a refined hazelnut finish. Vibrant acidity complements its fruit-forward style, creating a refreshing and harmonious tasting experience.
Pairing Recommendation
This Chardonnay pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes. Tropical fruit notes and balanced oak complement grilled seafood, roasted chicken, and creamy pasta dishes. Soft cheeses like Brie or Camembert pair wonderfully with its smooth texture. For a lighter option, serve it alongside fresh salads or roasted seasonal vegetables.
