Profile & Story
Domaine du Clos des Rocs is a family winegrowing estate in Loché, near Mâcon, run by Olivier Giroux and farmed organically. This Mâcon-Loché 'En Près Forêt' comes from a 1.61-hectare parcel of 40-year-old vines at 230 meters altitude, east-facing, on sandy-limestone, stony soil over massive schist. The grapes are harvested by hand and pressed slowly after crushing; the wine is vinified and aged 90% in stainless steel tanks and 10% in 500-liter barrels for eleven months.
Tasting Notes
Floral and lemony on the nose, with a fresh attack supported by a balanced structure and ripe fruit aromas — a very fruity profile combining citrus with notes of yellow peach, juicy on the palate with roundness and plenty of freshness.
Pairing Recommendation
An ideal wine for the apéritif and for the start of a meal. Best served around 14°C.
