Profile & Story
Di Giovanna is one of the oldest wine-growing families in Sicily, with five generations of viticulture between Contessa Entellina and Sambuca di Sicilia. This Vurria Rosato comes from the Miccina vineyard in the Contessa Entellina DOC, at about 1,600 feet on tuff soil, from 30-year-old vines of 100% Nerello Mascalese. The grapes are soft-pressed on the skins for three hours, fermented in stainless steel, then rested six months on the fine lees.
Tasting Notes
Pale pink in color, with aromas of citrus fruit, wild strawberries, aromatic herbs and mineral notes; the palate is fresh, elegant and persistent, with a savory finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Pairs wonderfully with shellfish, grilled white fish and pork; also good with sushi or Asian cuisine.
