Profile & Story

Thevenet et Fils is a three-generation family domaine in the south of Burgundy, now run by brothers Benjamin, Jonathan and Aurélien, who farm about thirty hectares across a dozen appellations. This Blanc de Blancs is built exclusively from Chardonnay grown on younger vines (around twenty years old) in the village of Serrières, on the border with Pierreclos, on west-facing, sandy-soil parcels. Production is limited to about 6,000 bottles a year, and in some vintages the malolactic fermentation is deliberately blocked to preserve a high level of acidity, aiming for a bone-dry, brightly effervescent cuvée with minimal dosage.
