Champagne Jean de Villaré is produced by the family-owned Baron-Fuente estate in Charly-sur-Marne, in the Vallée de la Marne. Founded in 1967 by Gabriel Baron and his wife Dolòres Fuentes with a single hectare of vines, the house has grown to 38 hectares on some of the Marne Valley's best sites. The name honors Jean de Villaré, a Napoleonic-era veteran who first planted vines in the village of Villaré. The Grande Réserve Brut reflects the region's Pinot Meunier-driven style, blended with Chardonnay for finesse.
Tasting Notes
Pale gold in color, the wine opens with elegant, pure aromas of apple, peach and apricot. On the palate it is complex and round, supple and well balanced, with an unctuous texture and good length.
