La Rioja Alta, S.A., founded in 1890 in Haro's Barrio de la Estación, has been crafting Viña Ardanza for more than eight decades. The 2019 is 80% Tempranillo from estate vineyards over 30 years old in Fuenmayor and Cenicero (Rioja Alta), and 20% Garnacha from the 550-meter La Pedriza estate in Tudelilla (Rioja Oriental). The Tempranillo ages 36 months and the Garnacha 30 months, both in handcrafted American oak barrels, with five manual rackings by candlelight.
