Panicaut is a parcel selection from La Cave Les Coteaux du Rhône, a growers' cooperative founded in 1926 in Sérignan-du-Comtat; the name refers to sea holly, a plant that thrives in the terroir's tough, rocky conditions. The wine is a Grenache and Mourvèdre blend from the clay-limestone, pebble-strewn Plan de Dieu terroir, a Côtes du Rhône Villages cru sometimes called 'Baby Châteauneuf-du-Pape.'
