Domaine Pierre Martin is a respected estate in Chavignol, the most celebrated village of Sancerre — also renowned for its Crottin de Chavignol goat cheese. Pierre Martin built the domaine from four hectares of vines and now farms seventeen hectares organically around Chavignol, including sites within the famous Monts Damnés and Le Cul de Beaujeu terroirs, working old vines with traditional vinification across the estate's mix of stony caillottes and clay-limestone terres blanches. This Sancerre Rouge is 100% Pinot Noir from vines over fifty years old, grown on caillottes and silex on a west-facing site, de-stemmed and fermented with indigenous yeast, then aged 40% in large older barrels and 60% in stainless steel.
