Profile & Story
Matías Riccitelli is a Mendoza winemaker whose Kung Fu line was born of his desire to make wines with minimal intervention that fully express the high-altitude Gualtallary terroir of the Uco Valley. The vineyards, farmed agroecologically without herbicides or systemic products, sit at 1,400 meters on calcareous soils. Grapes are hand-harvested in small boxes and move by gravity into small concrete eggs, where fermentation with indigenous yeast — half whole-cluster, half destemmed — proceeds at 24–26°C before eight months of aging in the same concrete eggs. The wine is bottled without added sulfites, clarification, or stabilization.
Tasting Notes
A big, bold red with strong black-fruit character and a dense texture, showing black cherry and plum sauce laced with pepper and herbs, and a juicy finish framed by chalky tannins.
