Profile & Story

Domaine Guion, in Benais within the Bourgueil appellation, is run by Stéphane Guion, who farms in respect of organic and biodynamic principles and vinifies with indigenous yeasts to let the terroir speak plainly. Candide is a younger-vine expression of the estate's Cabernet Franc, sourced from vines under 30 years old grown on argilo-calcareous (clay-limestone) soil, aged 8 to 10 months in vat before bottling.

Tasting Notes

The wine expresses the natural character of Cabernet Franc without artifice — red fruit aromas, mineral flavors, freshness, and a light tannic structure. It drinks well young or can age 4 to 5 years.

Pairing Recommendation

A light, food-friendly red suited to charcuterie and simple bistro fare; best served lightly chilled.
