Birgit Eichinger founded her winery from scratch in 1992 with just 3.5 hectares, drawing on her upbringing as a vintner's daughter to build one of Austria's most acclaimed estates; today the domaine farms 16 hectares of premium single vineyards around Strass in the Kamptal, with her daughter Gloria now part of the operation. The pair prioritize precision, elegance, and drinkability, refining their wines through joint tasting and experimentation, and have participated in Austria's Erste Lagen (ÖTW) single-vineyard classification since 1992. Ried Gaisberg is one of the estate's most important sites, its calcium-free silicate brown earth with substantial stone and weathered mica schist giving the Riesling grown there a cool, mineral structure.
