The Clément family's connection to their land in the Sancerre and Menetou-Salon appellations dates back to 1560, and the estate — today run by Anne and Pierre Alexandre Clément — operates under the motto "no good wine without good grapes," reflecting careful, plot-by-plot vineyard management across both Domaine de Châtenoy in Menetou-Salon and the Clos Saint-Martin estate in Sancerre, both certified organic. This white Sancerre comes from the Clos Saint-Martin estate, grown on the region's characteristic "caillottes" limestone soils.
