About the Wine

La Tourbeille has been a Bordeaux wine-producing property for centuries, and home to our French American family for five generations. The 25-acre vineyard is perched on a sunny hilltop above the Dordogne River on the Côte de La Tourbeille. La Tourbeille is a small-scale family producer and creates its wines in its own winery at the vineyard. The wines are from our special parcel of vieilles vignes  (70-year-old vines).  We assemble Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon to create a limited edition Rosé.  Using a gentle pneumatic press as soon as the grapes are harvested ensures the pale pink color, delicate aromas and notes of summer berries. A manual brassage des lies  at the end of fermentation brings a subtle gras to the texture.   “L’Esprit de Jeanne” is elegant, dry and refreshing.

Pairing Recommendation

This elegant fruity rosé pairs well with seafood such as lobster, seared salmon, tuna, or duck and delicately cooked rare lamb. Good too with white-rinded cheeses such as Camembert and Beir.
