Profile & Story

Barbichette is a natural-wine project from Louisiane Remy and Cesar Vega, launched in 2019 with organically farmed fruit from Seneca Lake in New York's Finger Lakes. 'Poc a Poc' (Catalan for 'little by little') is their macerated Muscat, inspired by Cesar's stage with Tom Lubbe at Domaine Matassa in France's Cotes Catalanes. The 2024 bottling blends Muscat with Gruner Veltliner grown on glacial silt loam with a western exposure; whole clusters macerate roughly two weeks before pressing into old oak, with spontaneous fermentation and eight months aging on fine lees. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with no added sulfites. ABV 9.5%.

Tasting Notes

High-toned aromatics of crushed grapefruit, honeysuckle, jasmine, and pineapple skin, with an alpine-floral lift and a savory, tea-like grip on the finish.
