Profile & Story

Hans Rottensteiner, one of the oldest wineries in Alto Adige, has farmed the porphyry slopes above Bolzano for roughly 400 years, taking its name from the region's red stone (Rotstein). The Schiava is sourced mainly from the Nussbaumer estate in Missiano and the surrounding Bolzano hillsides, fermented at 25C and matured in stainless steel.

Tasting Notes

A light-bodied red with moderate tannins, floral violet tones, and fresh red berries; a popular chilled aperitif wine.
