Don David is the flagship range of Bodega El Esteco, named for founder David Michel, sourced from estate vineyards in Argentina's Calchaqui Valley (Salta) at over 1,800 meters (6,000 feet) -- among the highest-altitude wine regions in the world, with poor alluvial soils and wide diurnal temperature swings. The 100% Malbec undergoes a five-hour thin-skin maceration followed by over a week of cold maceration in steel, then ages 9 months in a combination of French and American oak.

Ideal with traditional Argentine dishes built on red meats, as well as hard cheeses and smoked cold cuts.
