Punset, located in Neive in the heart of Barbaresco, has been farmed by the Marcarino family for generations. In the 1980s Marina Marcarino transitioned the estate to organic farming, making Punset the first Italian estate to receive organic certification. The estate produces Barbaresco, Barbera, Dolcetto, Langhe Nebbiolo, Arneis, and grappa, all certified organic. The Barbera d'Alba is hand-harvested into perforated crates, destemmed, spontaneously fermented with indigenous yeasts, softly pressed, and completes malolactic fermentation. The wine ages several months in concrete tanks before bottling — produced without wood aging to preserve fresh varietal character. 100% Barbera.
