Profile & Story
Hendry, Napa Valley. Hendry's first planting of Albarino was in Block 9B in 2003; the winery now farms five blocks of the grape. Whole-cluster pressed with chilled stainless-steel fermentation to preserve bright, fresh fruit flavors, then cold-settled. 13.8% alcohol. Tasting Notes
Aromatic, citrusy, and floral on the nose, and vibrant and juicy on the palate. Medium straw color, with fresh aromas of citrus, apricot, and lemon custard; vibrant on the palate, with salted lime and the creamy mouthfeel of lemon bars.
Pairing Recommendation
As the Spanish say, Albarino goes with anything that has a fin, a shell, or a scale: grilled shrimp, Crab Louis, and delicate white fish. Also great alongside dishes that work with a squeeze of lemon, like Caesar salad or Greek-style chicken skewers.
