Terre Gaia Mayah Chardonnay 2023
2023, Veneto, Italy
Profile & Story
Terre Gaie is a family winery in Vò, at the western edge of the Colli Euganei (Euganean Hills) in the province of Padova, Veneto. Run by the Lovo family — Salvatore with his wife Rita Ferasin and their daughter Silvia — it focuses on expressing the terroir of the Colli Euganei with respect for its origins and traditional grape varieties. This Chardonnay is fermented in stainless steel: the grapes are cold-macerated for about 12 hours, then the juice is separated from the skins, decanted, and inoculated with selected yeasts for a 10–12 day fermentation at a constant 16 °C, before resting in steel tanks until bottling.
Tasting Notes
Pale straw yellow with greenish reflections. Aromas of ripe exotic fruit sweetened by notes of honey and vanilla. Elegant, warm, and persistent.
Pairing Recommendation
Excellent with savoury pies, soups, fish, white meats, and young cheeses.
