Pio Cesare sources its Barbera from more than ten sites in and around the Barolo and Barbaresco zones, plus villages beyond the appellation boundary. The wine ages 18 months in French Allier oak — 30% in mid-toast barriques (half new, half one year old) and 70% in larger 20-50hl casks about eight years old.
