Profile & Story

Founded in 1871 by Antonio Garofoli, Garofoli is the oldest winery in Italy's Marche region, based in the Castelli di Jesi/Conero area. Pét Kon is a Pétillant Naturel (ancestral method) sparkling rosé made from 100% Montepulciano grown on estate vineyards in the Rosso Conero DOC zone of Monte Conero. The wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation with the grapes' own yeasts, is bottled unfiltered, and finishes its fermentation in bottle, resting on its lees about 5 months before release (roughly 3,000 bottles produced).

Tasting Notes

Intense pink color; fruity, floral aroma with yeasty notes on the finish; fresh on the palate with a light, natural sparkle and long persistence.

Pairing Recommendation

Suggested by the producer with antipasti, gourmet pizza, gourmet burgers, salmon, shellfish, fresh cheeses, first courses, and fried foods.
