Malabaila di Canale has been growing vines in Canale d'Alba, on the border of Roero and Langhe, Piedmont, since 1362. This Langhe Favorita DOC comes from a historic vineyard planted in 1982 on marly, sandy soils at about 270 meters with southern exposure — the grape is believed to have arrived in the area from Liguria via the old salt trade route. Fermented and aged in stainless steel to preserve freshness.
