Salcheto is an organic and biodynamic estate in Montepulciano, southeast Siena province, Tuscany, farming more than 60 hectares and operating one of Italy's most ecologically advanced wine cellars. This Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG is 100% Prugnolo Gentile (the local Sangiovese clone), matured 18 months (70% in botte, 30% in tonneaux) followed by 6 months of bottle refinement. The 2022 vintage was marked by extreme heat and drought, with ideal late-season conditions bringing freshness and balance.
Tasting Notes
Dusty dried roses, fresh tobacco, licorice, and black cherry on the nose; a silken palate of polished red and blue fruit, vibrant acidity, and sweet tannins through a long finish.
