Profile & Story
Stéphane Aviron is a Beaujolais négociant-éleveur known for sourcing very old vines across the cru villages. This Morgon Côte du Py Vieilles Vignes comes from the slopes of an extinct volcano regarded as one of Beaujolais's top terroirs, with south-facing vines rooted in volcanic soils of schist and 'pierre bleue.' Whole-bunch fermented and macerated in temperature-controlled stainless steel for about ten days, then aged 12 months in neutral Burgundy barriques.
Tasting Notes
The estate's most structured and earthy wine, drinkable young but capable of aging up to a decade; dark fruit and mineral depth typical of Côte du Py's volcanic terroir.
