Profile & Story

Argiolas is Sardinia's foremost wine estate, founded in the early 20th century by Antonio Argiolas from a modest three-hectare farm in Serdiana, in the Trexenta hills near Cagliari, and now run by his grandchildren with a strong identity in balance with the land and its traditions. Costamolino, named for the coastal sands near the vineyards, is their signature Vermentino di Sardegna DOC: grapes are harvested in August and September, given a painstaking selection and very light pressing using only first-press wine, cooled to 10-12C for natural settling, then fermented at 16-18C for about 20 days with a brief aging on the fine lees before bottling.

Tasting Notes

Straw yellow with light green tinges. The bouquet is subtle, intense and delicate, with good primary and secondary aromas. On the palate it is fresh and dry, sapid, with a pleasant, delicate and fine feel.

Pairing Recommendation

Recommended with seafood starters, fregola (semolina pasta) with crustaceans, fish stews, bass with artichokes, and soft-textured, medium-mature cheeses.
