Profile & Story
Coppo has farmed in Canelli, in Piemonte's Asti province, since 1892 and is among the very few estates permitted, under a historic grandfather clause, to vinify Nebbiolo into Barolo from outside the appellation's strict boundary. Its UNESCO-listed underground cellars date to the late eighteenth century.
Tasting Notes
One hundred percent Nebbiolo from south- to southeast-facing slopes over calcareous clay, aged 36 months in large oak; garnet red, with rose, violet, red berry, and a hint of licorice, and a linear, precise palate of silky tannin and a long finish.
