4 Kilos Vinícola was founded in 2006 in Mallorca by Francesc Grimalt and Sergio Caballero, named for their modest initial investment. Motor America is made entirely from Callet, an indigenous Mallorcan variety, from a single organic vineyard planted in 1961, hand-harvested, foot-stomped, fermented with native yeast, and aged in clay amphora and steel before bottling unfiltered with minimal sulfur.
