Château La Vaisinerie sits on the hills of Puisseguin, about 6 miles from Saint-Émilion, and has existed since the 17th century as a former outbuilding of Château de Puisseguin; the main house dates to around 1685 and the farm buildings to 1718. Since July 2019 the estate has been owned by Alain Moses. The 25-hectare property (12ha under vine, the rest woodland, hedgerow and a pond) practices reasoned/sustainable agriculture to support local biodiversity. The Puisseguin Saint-Émilion red is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc from vines averaging 35 years old; roughly half the production is aged in French oak for 12-14 months, with vinification in temperature-controlled concrete tanks. Grapes are mechanically harvested, sorted on vibrating tables, and the best fruit undergoes cold maceration before fermentation.
