Domaine de l'Herré sits at the heart of Gascony, at the foot of the Pyrenees on the historic Bas Armagnac terroir. The estate is planted to White and Grey Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Gros Manseng and Colombard across roughly 130-170 hectares. The fawn-colored sandy soils (sand, ferrite and clay), combined with the thermal swing between hot Gascon days and cool nights arriving off the Atlantic and the Pyrenees, build aromatic precursors in the grape skins. Since the 2017 vintage the domaine has been certified High Environmental Value (HVE) and uses biocontrol products in place of chemical treatments. For this 100% Sauvignon Blanc (Côtes de Gascogne, IGP), grapes are picked at night and inerted with nitrogen to protect against oxidation, then pressed with temperature-controlled skin maceration; only free-run juice is kept and fermented slowly around 16°C. ABV is approximately 12%.
