Profile & Story
Zardetto was founded in 1969 in the Veneto by winemaker Fabio Zardetto and remains one of the first houses to introduce and distribute Prosecco outside Italy. This entry-level Prosecco DOC Brut is produced from vineyards in the hilly part of the Prosecco DOC (Treviso province, 300-600 ft elevation, clay/chalky soils), blending at least 85% Glera with up to 15% Pinot Bianco/Chardonnay, made via the Charmat method with a 10-12 day alcoholic fermentation and a further 12-day sparkling fermentation plus one month on the lees. Analytical data: 11% ABV, 12 g/l residual sugar (Brut), pH 3.1.
Tasting Notes
Straw yellow with greenish hues; a bouquet of acacia flowers, apricot and green apple. Fresh and fragrant on the palate, with citrus, apple, orange blossom and stone-fruit flavors, supported by creamy, mouth-filling bubbles and a sapid, mineral, persistent finish.
