Botromagno was re-founded in 1991 by the D'Agostino family after they took over what had been a struggling cooperative in Gravina, in Puglia's Alta Murgia. Farming 40 hectares split into ten plots at 400-600 meters elevation, the estate prioritizes native grape varieties and quality over quantity.
Tasting Notes
A Primitivo from this cooler, higher-elevation Gravina zone typically shows deep ruby color with blackberry, cherry and light spice aromas, a smooth palate with moderate tannins, and a fruit-driven finish, generally fresher and less jammy than Primitivo di Manduria.
