Profile & Story
Founded in 1781 by Joseph Vidal in Tupin-et-Semons, Vidal-Fleury is the oldest active winery in the Rhone Valley. Thomas Jefferson visited the estate in 1787, and a young Etienne Guigal began his career there before the Guigal family acquired the house in the early 1980s, which today retains full autonomy over its winemaking and style.
Tasting Notes
Grown from Grenache Noir, Syrah and Mourvedre on clay and pebbly alluvial soils on the Rhone's right bank, the wine shows a dark red robe with purple reflects, an intense nose of preserved red fruit, black pepper and thyme, and a round palate with balanced tannins finishing long on notes of cherry.

The producer recommends it with duck dishes, lamb stews, grilled beef, and full-flavored cheeses.
