This Cabernet is a family collaboration between winemaker Nick Goldschmidt and his daughter Katherine; since the 2018 vintage it has been sourced from the Stonemason Hill vineyard in Alexander Valley, a site with mature vines over thirty years old planted in gravel loam soil beneath a stone-walled terrace.
Tasting Notes
The 2022 vintage, a warmer year that pushed the wine toward more black fruit, shows black cherry, boysenberry and black fig aromas with vibrant perfume, and a smooth mouth with rich, silky tannins.
Pairing Recommendation
The producer suggests grilled ribeye, rosemary lamb, aged cheddar, wild mushroom dishes, prime rib, filet mignon, rack of lamb, roasted duck, or grilled pork loin.
