Profile & Story

Frei Brothers traces its roots to 1890, when founder Andrew Frei first planted vineyards in Sonoma County's Dry Creek Valley; his sons Walter and Louis later took over and gave the winery its name. Rooted in Sonoma County for more than 125 years, Frei Brothers has farmed sustainably for over 30 years, partnering with local growers to match each grape to its ideal site.

Tasting Notes

Aromas of ripe apple, bright citrus, and toasted oak lead into flavors of pear, peach, and tropical pineapple, layered with hints of spiced apple pie, vanilla cream, and toast. Selected almost entirely from Russian River Valley estate vineyards, some lots are barrel-fermented on the lees for creaminess while the rest ferment in stainless steel, then age nine months in oak, for a silky smooth, plush, full-bodied wine with a long, lingering finish.
