La Guardiense Janare Falanghina del Sannio

Janare is the flagship export line of La Guardiense, one of Italy's largest wine cooperatives, founded in 1960 by 33 growers in Guardia Sanframondi (Sannio, Campania) and now uniting roughly 1,000 member families farming over 1,500 hectares. Chief oenologist Riccardo Cotarella oversees production. This 100% Falanghina is sourced from hillside vineyards (100-400m) across the Sannio area near Benevento. Vinification is fully in stainless steel at 13-15C for about 20 days with a brief cold maceration at 10C; no malolactic fermentation is performed, with aging in bottle. ABV is 12.5%.

Pairing Recommendation

Excellent as an aperitif; pairs well with delicate appetizers, tomato-based pastas, risottos, fish carpaccio and fresh cheeses.
