Profile & Story

Bramìto della Sala is produced by Marchesi Antinori at Castello della Sala, a medieval-castle estate in Umbria roughly 18 km from Orvieto near the Tuscan border; the 600-hectare property (229 ha under vine, 220-470m altitude) sits on soils of sedimentary marine-fossil deposits with clay veins that lend minerality and elegance. First produced in 1994, the wine is 100% Chardonnay. Grapes are destemmed and gently crushed, chilled to 10°C for a short skin maceration, then split between oak and stainless steel for fermentation at 16-18°C; only the oak-fermented lots undergo malolactic fermentation before blending and bottling.

Tasting Notes

Bright straw yellow with light golden hues. The nose reveals notes of yellow apple, Scotch broom blossoms, and citrus hints with subtle dried fruit and pastry nuances. The palate is balanced, smooth, and precise, with lively freshness and flavors of salted almond.
