Maison L'Envoye, the envoy or messenger, is a Pinot Noir house working across Oregon and Burgundy, and Two Messengers is its Willamette Valley cuvee, a survey of the best fruit in the valley drawn from several sites so that their different personalities balance one another. The fruit is completely de-stemmed and fermented with indigenous yeast in open-top tanks, the whole berries left to infuse at moderate temperature in an oxygen-rich environment until pressing; the wine is then matured twelve months in French oak barriques, a quarter of them new.
