Profile & Story

The Tenuta di Nozzole lies north of the village of Greve, in the heart of Chianti Classico, and has belonged to the Folonari family since 1971. The estate covers around a thousand acres of rugged hill country at about 300 metres, and Sangiovese is its principal grape, raised in a mixture of small toasted barrels and large seasoned oak. The Riserva is hand-harvested, destemmed and crushed, fermented on the skins in temperature-controlled stainless steel with an extended maceration, then put through malolactic fermentation in stainless steel before ageing in oak vats and in bottle ahead of release.
